Trapt and Shinedown to Co-Headline Equinox Tour

North American Dates to Also Feature: Mercy Fall, Halestorm & Evans Blue

With the second single from their sophomore release "Someone In Control" continuing to climb at rock radio, TRAPT are embarking on the largest and most exciting headlining run of the album's campaign on the Equinox Tour.

The tour is scheduled to run April 19-May 24, and will also feature Shinedown, Mercy Fall, Halestorm and Evans Blue (joining May 8). The run of dates will also include a number of festival appearances, which will see TRAPT sharing stages with the likes of Mudvayne, Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie, Staind and Yellowcard.

TRAPT -- CHRIS BROWN (vocals, guitar), SIMON ORMANDY (guitar), PETER CHARELL (bass) and AARON "MONTY" MONTGOMERY (drums) -- released "Someone In Control" September 13 on Warner Bros. Records, and the band have been on the road since, including a high-profile run with multi-platinum rock staples Nickelback. The success of the album's lead single, "Stand Up," was followed by the release of "Waiting," which continues to pick up increased spins at rock radio formats nationwide. "Their blend of courageous intensity and sweet melodicism suggests a band weaned on equal parts Soundgarden and Pink Floyd, Korn and Metallica," writes Bob Gulla in Guitar One, citing only a few of the influences that come to play in TRAPT. The band received breakthrough success with their debut single "Headstrong," earning two Billboard Awards for Best Modern Rock Track and Best Rock Track of 2003.

"Someone In Control" continues to build on that foundation with 11 songs co-produced by TRAPT and Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Pearl Jam). "Every song is either about losing control, or trying too hard to have control," says Brown of the release. "There's a fine line between allowing yourself to be vulnerable and closing yourself off to everything. There's a balance point, and being able to balance control is when you're really in control." Additionally, the new release "better captures what we sound like live," says the singer.
