The EMPEC 2006 Private Equity And Venture Capital Conference: Russia, India, China Are The Premier On Private Equity In Emerging Markets

Russia, India and China have emerged as the industry’s three pillars, in both sheer size and more importantly, viable opportunities.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (EWORLDWIRE) Apr 10, 2006

In the emerging markets, Russia, India and China became the industry’s three pillars, in both sheer size and more importantly, viable opportunities. In 1998, Evgeniy Primakov, the former prime minister of the Russian Federation, announced the formation of a strategic alliance between Russia, China and India as a long-term strategy to promote the sustainable growth of the emerging markets. During the next eight years, the Russian, Chinese and Indian triangle has developed into an integral and dramatically growing economic and global force. Moreover, positive economic and regulatory developments have stirred up interest in private equity activity in these three countries.

The International Council of Institutional Investors joined the efforts with the political and economic elites of Russia, India and China (RIC) to hold the inaugural Emerging Markets Private Equity Conference (EMPEC) in World Trade Center Moscow on May 29-30, 2006. The conference will host many influential politicians and investment professionals who have been involved in the growth and development of the emerging private equity markets.

This conference will reveal the unique opportunities in these dynamically expanding markets. The aim is to give those attending an access to market information as well as an intimate knowledge of the emerging opportunities in the RIC’s private equity markets, allowing delegates to make informed judgment about the timing and scope of their investment strategy.

EMPEC is currently endorsed by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by Primakov, and Pacific Corporate Group, a leading private equity firm. The highly topical conference program provides interactive, networking opportunities to establish political and business contacts with top decision-makers from governmental organizations, international financial institutions, leading private equity and venture capital funds and institutional investors.
