Secretary-General Kofi Annan travels to Spain and the Netherlands next week to chair a meeting of top United Nations executives and help celebrate the 60th birthday of the World Court, the UN's top judicial body.

In Spain, Mr. Annan will chair the twice-yearly meeting of the Chief Executives Board, which brings together the heads of the UN agencies, funds and programmes. The session is being hosted by the UN World Tourism Organization. While in Madrid he will meet with Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Zapatero Rodriguez and King Juan Carlos.

From Madrid, he will travel to The Hague to speak at the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). While there he also expects to meet with officials from the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

Mr. Annan plans to depart in the latter part of next week, returning to New York a week later.
