Caspar Weinberger's Last Recorded Interview on Sky Radio
Caspar W. Weinberger, Secretary of Defense
during the Reagan Administration, recorded a final interview for Sky Radio
just days before his passing on March 28th at the age of 88. The interview
is available to listen to at www.SkyRadioNet.com.
According to Sky Radio's President and Executive Producer Marc Holland,
"Caspar, although extremely fluid and insightful, sounded tired and weak."
According to Holland, Caspar made an eerie reference that "he didn't have
many more interviews left in him."
During the interview with, Sky Radio's Carol Hiller, Weinberger discussed
the recent shift in the US Political stance toward India. "It's in a very
strategic area of the world," he told Hiller, "It's important that we have
friends there, particularly as we are working very hard to make sure that
Iraq comes out of the Anti-Western position that they've had for too many
years." He added, "We have an enormous opportunity to work closely with
India, which will be very good for America, for India and for all of Asia."
The administration's nuclear deal with India, Weinberger said, is a good
example of US determination to win a closer relationship with India as a
growing political and financial power. "The Nuclear treaty demonstrates
that we are willing to do for India what we have not really been willing to
do for other countries, and we are glad to have, in India, a regime that
wants to work with us."
Caspar Weinberger's interview on Sky Radio joins a remarkable lineup of
conversations with many of today's most significant figures including:
Former President Jimmy Carter; Former Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright; Celebrated attorney Alan Dershowitz; New Mexico Governor Bill
Richardson; Super lawyer Dan Webb; Former EPA Administrator Carol Browner;
and Former NFL Star turned Oklahoma Congressman Steve Largent.
