Nomadics, Inc. Releases Quantitative SPR Biosensor
The SensíQ(TM) Biosensor Will Make Its Debut at PITTCON(R) 2006
Nomadics, Inc., a Stillwater, OK based
technology company, unveils its biomolecular interaction analyzer at
PITTCON 2006 in Orlando, Florida -- the largest U.S. instrumentation show.
The SensíQ provides quantitative, label-free surface plasmon resonance
(SPR) based analysis to labs of any size.
In the past, researchers have been dependent upon core facilities for
access to high-quality, biomolecular interaction analysis. Due to the
innovative design of the SensíQ, this powerful characterization technology
is now available to mainstream researchers in a cost effective instrument.

Nomadics began SPR-based research in 2000 and received licensing to develop
and distribute SPR evaluation kits utilizing the Texas Instruments(TM)
Spreeta(TM) biosensor that same year. Last summer, after five years of
sales and advanced research, Nomadics received additional licensing for the
improved and miniaturized technology platform as well as specific
distribution rights which allowed SensíQ to be developed.
SensíQ offers highly sensitive, multi-channel capabilities at a fraction of
the cost of instruments with like performance. SensíQ provides high data
quality in a dual channel biosensor complete with advanced microfluidics,
custom surface attachment chemistry and state-of-the-art data analysis
tools. Optimized real-time reference curve subtraction and implementation
of the well established double referencing technique yields the highest
quality kinetic and affinity data.
Nomadics is vigorously pursuing further SPR opportunities in life science
research, biodefense and food safety. The Bio-Instrumentation Group
performs advanced research and development in this field at the Nomadics
facility in Oklahoma City.

About ICx Technologies
ICx Technologies sells products designed to thwart terrorists, sniff out
improvised weapons and intercept agents of mass destruction. Our sensors
detect chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE)
materials. We manufacture security radars, infrared cameras and other
products that detect, illuminate or neutralize incoming threats. And we
sell systems and software that link, supervise and control security
products supplied by ICx and other vendors and partners. Our technologies
have crossover applications in military and commercial industries. We
provide solutions where traditional technologies are too expensive,
cumbersome or unreliable to do the job.
