Al Hrabosky, Randi Naughton 'Step Up to the Plate' for Family Resource Center and Child Abuse Prevention Month

Sports legend Al Hrabosky and FOX2 News Anchor Randi Naughton will help Family Resource Center usher in Child Abuse Prevention Month at its Love Grows Here Gala Dinner & Auction on Saturday, April 1, 2006. Proceeds from the event at the Chase Park Plaza's Khorassan Ballroom will benefit the non-profit organization's programs preventing and treating child abuse.

"The gala's theme reflects Family Resource Center's mission," says Executive Director Greg Echele. "Love Grows Here for hundreds of St. Louis-area children and families thanks to our compassionate friends and donors. This event celebrates the growth and healing kids and parents experience as a result of that generous support."

Family Resource Center's mission is to prevent and treat all forms of child abuse and neglect by strengthening families through family-centered therapeutic, educational, and support services provided in-office, in-home, and at schools. In 2005, the organization served over 11,273 children and their families.

Cardinals' broadcaster and former pitcher Al Hrabosky will host a private reception for gala sponsors and high-level ticket holders preceding the main event. Reception attendees will get an exclusive opportunity to bid on an item personally donated by Hrabosky, as well as a sneak peek at the evening's auction offerings, including a ball autographed by Olympic gold medal speedskater Joey Cheek, tickets to the first Friday game at the new Busch Stadium, a popCYCLE, trips to the Grand Canyon and Cancun, and much more.

Fox2 News Anchor Randi Naughton will keep the revelry going as Emcee for the Love Grows Here gala, which includes a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, and silent and live auctions.

Another highlight of the Love Grows Here gala will be the presentation of the Herman T. and Phenie R. Pott Child Advocacy Award to long-time friend and former Board President of Family Resource Center, Thomas R. Corbett. Corbett is chairman of Thompson Coburn's Private Client Services Group.
