Elliptic Joins ChipEstimate.com IP Parnter Program
Broadest Security IP Portfolio Now Available for Chip Estimation
Elliptic Semiconductor and Giga
Scale Integration Corporation announced today that Elliptic has joined the
ChipEstimate.com IP Partner Program. As an intellectual property (IP)
partner, IP developed by Elliptic is now available to the over 4,000 ASIC
and system-on-chip (SoC) designers who access and download a no-cost
version of the InCyte estimation system through the ChipEstimate.com web
site.
InCyte is emerging as the de facto standard for chip estimation among
semiconductor design houses, ASIC vendors, and design services firms.
InCyte aggregates data from leading third-party foundries and IP vendors
and puts it at designers' fingertips. As a result of this agreement, InCyte
users now can estimate a design and quantify the effects of Elliptic
Semiconductor's IP in terms of size, power, leakage, yield, cost, and other
parameters.
Elliptic has the broadest security IP portfolio in the industry including
semiconductor IP and embedded software. Its symmetric cryptographic cores
such as AES and triple DES algorithms offer performance capability up to 50
Gbps. Key exchange functions are supported through single purpose or dual
capability RSA and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) cores as well as true
and pseudo-random number generator functions.
"Elliptic Semiconductor is pleased to join the ChipEstimate.com IP Partner
Program and to showcase our comprehensive portfolio of security IP to the
rapidly growing InCyte user-base," said Al Hawtin, Vice President of
Marketing for Elliptic Semiconductor. "The majority of Elliptic cores are
configurable and as a result gate count and performance can change
dramatically depending on the core options selected. Elliptic application
engineering and our customers increasingly rely on a tool like InCyte to
allow them to make intelligent trade-off in area, power and ultimately
market positioning for their ASIC design," added Hawtin.
"Security IP is becoming important for an increasing number of our InCyte
users," said Adam Traidman, Giga Scale IC President, "Having Elliptic
Semiconductor join our ChipEstimate.com IP Partner Program addresses these
designers' needs for incorporating this specialized IP into accurate
estimations."
About Elliptic Semiconductor
Headquartered in Ottawa, Elliptic Semiconductor Inc.
(http://www.ellipticsemi.com/) provides semiconductor intellectual property
(IP) cores and software for secure communications ranging from low power to
multi-gigabit per second implementations. Elliptic SIP cores enable
system-on-chip designers to efficiently balance power, performance and
silicon area in complex security-based systems. Demanding customers in
markets such as implantable devices, wireless, storage, content
distribution and high performance communications trust Elliptic IP cores.
About ChipEstimate.com
ChipEstimate.com is the web portal where IP, foundry, and economic data
from across the semiconductor supply chain is aggregated to enable accurate
chip estimations with the InCyte system. InCyte is a powerful specification
estimation and analysis tool that reduces the risk, design time and cost of
IC design, as it accurately estimates key IC specifications, including
size, power, leakage, yield, and cost. Two versions of InCyte are offered
and accessed through ChipEstimate.com. The first is for preliminary
prototyping of a chip specification, where industry-average foundry and IP
library models can be used. The even more accurate version allows chip
estimation with different combinations of IP using IP and foundry
technology data, and delivering results with up to 98% accuracy when
compared to final silicon. The version using actual technology data also
adds the ability to estimate production chip cost and includes wafer
pricing data and package recommendations. IP vendors can join the
ChipEstimate.com IP Partner Program and ensure that their IP is considered
when chip planning takes place.
About Giga Scale IC
Giga Scale IC is a privately funded EDA company that serves the interests
of the IC design community by enabling accurate estimation of both chip
functionality and cost at the IC specification stage, before a chip design
begins. The company develops and markets the InCyte chip estimation tool,
into which it integrates IP models for the most accurate estimation of
ultimate chip and package cost. The company offers a unified web location
-- ChipEstimate.com -- through which it delivers streamlined access to
information about IP options, and allows the design community to assess
different IP in their own chip design context. Giga Scale IC partners with
leading IP vendors and semiconductor manufacturers who share our mission of
early and accurate assessment of IP for our mutual customers' ultimate
design success.
The company is headquartered at 10050 North Wolfe Road, Suite SW1-266,
Cupertino, Calif. 95014. Telephone: (408)
