Premium Steap Brings Warmth and Relaxation to Rittenhouse Square

  Share With Friends

Peggy Stephens is heating things up at her new tea shop, Premium Steap, at 111 S. 18th Street in Rittenhouse Square. Both the tea novice and experienced drinker will be expertly guided to pinpoint their taste preference from the shop's selection of 140 whole leaf premium loose teas and tisanes. Premium Steap works with 10 different tea suppliers committed to selling only top quality, organic, naturally flavored fresh teas.

If 140 different teas sound overwhelming, don't worry. Their goal is to make the tea experience as simple and enjoyable as possible. Peggy's five years of experience running the highly successful Wayne Tea Shop guarantees she'll be able to find just the right blend no matter what your taste. And, just like fine wines, certain teas complement certain foods. Serving Brie to your guests? Then you'll want a cup of Darjeeling or Dragonwell.

Premium Steap is an experience where you use all your senses to choose the perfect blend. When you walk in the door the first thing you will notice is the shop's sophisticated, Zen like atmosphere that both male and female customers appreciate. "Customer service is our main focus. We want our customers to be able to escape the stress of the streets and their office in a peaceful and tranquil setting," says Stephens. To achieve that goal she hired nationally recognized Feng Shui expert H. G. Chissell to help design the interior of the store.

The shops friendly neighborhood atmosphere is what keeps customers coming back for more. Peggy and her staff will explain the differences between Black Tea, Oolong, Green Tea, White Tea and Rooibos, herbal and fruit teas. "Most of our teas are available at our take out bar and we are the only shop that froths our milk instead of steaming, which creates a much more creamy drink called the au lait." Saying, "I'm going to run out and grab a cup of coffee," just sounds stressful. Instead, at Premium Steap, you wander in and peruse the tea selections, then go to the tea bar to place your order. While your tea is being infused you can chat with your neighbors and friends about what is happening around town this week. You walk out with a much healthier beverage and less caffeine.

Premium Steap is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 6 pm and Sunday from noon to 5:00 pm and serves cups of tea to go, loose tea to make at home, as well as an extensive selection of teapots and cups from around the world which make perfect gifts for friends, family and clients. They have everything you need to recreate the soothing and relaxing experience of tea at home or in the office.
