Simplybackup Adds Native Zip64 Capability for Cross-Platform Security

MoodBook Development released their new version 2.5 of SimplyBackup, what they say is the fastest, easiest and smallest ergonomic backup software product available for Windows XP, 2000, 98, Me, NT, 95, and 2003.

This release adds an important, principal innovation - full and native support for Zip64, new 64-bit extensions to Zip format, used as a standard, portable way to store personal and corporate backups, reliably and securely. SimplyBackup works in compliance with the WinZip 9 Zip utility, to back up and restore your valuable data on any Windows desktop or laptop, either at home or in the office.

The extended Zip64 format lets you back up data in huge Zip backup files of virtually unlimited size. The original Zip file format limited the number of member files in a Zip file to 65,535, and the maximum size of both the Zip file itself and any member item to 4 gigabytes. For all practical purposes, the 64-bit extended format eliminates all these restrictions. SimplyBackup 2.5 remains fully compatible with the original file format and uses the original Zip format whenever possible.
