CliniComp Essentris Helps Weed Army Community Hospital Efficiently Share Patient Data
Rollout Is the Second Installation in Planned Three-Phase Project
CliniComp, Intl. today announced that the
Western Regional Medical Command (WRMC), located at Fort Lewis in Tacoma,
Wash., has added the CliniComp Essentris(TM) clinical suite to a second
hospital within the command's three-hospital network as part of a planned
system-wide upgrade.
In the latest installation, Essentris will be used throughout Weed Army
Community Hospital in Fort Irwin, Calif. The hospital offers pediatric
medical and surgical care, obstetrics, orthopedics and emergency services.
Essentris will allow the medical staff and other personnel to efficiently
share clinical documentation about patients with a paperless chart. It will
also be used for fetal monitor remote display. In addition, the hospital
will also leverage two key Essentris products, Essentris CPOE and Essentris
InView(TM).
Essentris CPOE allows for the entry, classification and management of
orders for the general staff, particularly the physician. It provides rules
and alert-driven decision support while screening medication orders for
adverse interactions, duplication and other errors. Essentris InView is a
data repository with easy-to-use tools that enable clinicians, supervisors
and administrators to analyze and report on historical and real-time
clinical processes and practices quickly and cost-effectively.
Carl Witonsky, vice chairman of CliniComp, said, "We're pleased to support
the Department of Defense with its ongoing program to promote best
practices in monitoring patient status and efficiently sharing patient
data. Essentris allows a smaller facility such as Weed Army Community
Hospital access to the same system used at the flagship facility at Ft.
Lewis, giving medical personnel an enhanced ability to care for its
patients."
