Stickam.com's New Online Web Tool Raises the Bar

Next-generation web tool takes media management one step closer to ideal.

LOS ANGELES (EWORLDWIRE) Jan 13, 2006

"Where would you stick it?" is the word on the street.

Advanced Video Communication, Inc (AVC) introduces a personalized, self-managed Stickam player. Stickam (www.stickam.com) is a fresh new concept for the notion of all-in-one-web media tools. This next-generation website media tool is raising the standard for online applications, allowing users to compile pictures, movies, audio files, video chat and more using one media player. Webcam users can broadcast live to any page they designate the player to appear on, whether or not they are online. Visitors will also have access to any other multimedia files users wish to share.

Registration and posting of the player on any site are free. Posting to other sites entails copying a set of HTML or Javascript from the users' "Stickam My Page" and pasting the code into their blog, personal site, online auctions and more. Accessing files inside the player requires no opening of a link page and no pop-ups. It appears directly on the page - hence the term "stic"-"kam" stemming from "stick the camera."

The layout can be obtained at http://stickam.com/profile/stickam1

Using one online media tool that only requires Macromedia Flash(TM) and with no hidden charges, users will have a suite of features that sets this product apart from its competitors. Many companies offer site tools but nothing as comprehensive as Stickam.com, which offers almost unlimited bandwidth and 500MB of free storage space. There is little downloading required for using the applications included with the player - users need only to register.

Stickam users have added personal videos of weddings, performances, favorite music and pictures from their favorite occasions. Entrepreneurs use the streaming video feature to give three dimensional product demonstrations at online auctions. Stickam has been used to improve the quality of in-home online classes like guitar or cooking, or even to hold business meetings without the burden of heavy and expensive equipment.

Users can customize the player skin so the design fits the look and feel of their blog or homepage. They can also send pictures and videos directly from their cell phones to their personal Stickam player so they don't need to be in front of their PC to share a moment. Stickam is about compilation, simplification, convenience and innovation with the goal of bringing people together on the web.

A group video chat option will be added to the Stickam player on Jan. 18, 2006. "This will enable video chat with up to 12 people at the same time, and text chat with an unlimited number," said Paul Ku , Stickam chief marketing officer. "We are partnering with the user community to develop this tool, with new features released weekly. A monthly newsletter will be e-mailed to notify users of new features. Stickam anticipates growth to over a million users before the end of 2006."

"Our company has spent years developing high quality streaming video applications," said Hiro Zusho, COO of Stickam Inc. "We wanted to create a site which expanded to a wider community of users. We want users to be able to use the Stickam tool at other sites like Myspace.com, Xanga.com, Friendster.com, etc. You can copy the HTML or Javascript code of your personal Stickam player and paste it into the body of your blog, E-bay auction, personal site and more. After registering at Stickam.com, the site gives an easy explanation of how to add the Stickam player onto your blog or website and most importantly, without needing to be at each site to broadcast. These easy steps enable users to broadcast media and creates a new standard for flexibility in website tools."

"I attached the Stickam player into my profile page at My Space and Friendster," said Rupert Waters of California, an artist and Stickam user. "I give three-dimensional product tests of pottery arts and crafts to multiple viewers at E-bay by sticking my player into my auction and broadcasting live video. I go to my page at Stickam and video chat with other users overseas in Japan and India. I can paste the player on my personal webpage to demonstrate graphics, arts and photography as a slide show or post music files for listening so that viewers can enjoy, preview and purchase my music."

This new site tool and its features bring a new dynamic to being online. The web itself allows people to connect regardless of location as long as they are logged on to the net. Stickam now allows people to connect to others more indirectly and efficiently than before. Users can be anywhere online and as long as they are live at Stickam.com, any of their designated pages will post their live feed screen and it will maintain access to their other media files whether or not they are online.

Stickam was created by AVC and is available at http://www.advancedvideocommunications.com.
