On Howard Stern: Wake Up, America And Listen And See What Your Children Are Hearing And Watching, Says Martin Bayne
Raising Awareness At www.boycottsirius.com
ALBANY, N.Y. (EWORLDWIRE) Jan 6, 2006
"What will it take to raise awareness that the threads of our social fabric are being stripped away - weakening our moral, spiritual and psychological integrity as communities within a broader society?" asks Martin Bayne, in his strong, deeply hypnotic voice. "It's no wonder the rest of the world thinks Americans are by and large morally contemptible - many believe Howard Stern represents who we really are."
"This boycott is not about prudishness, repression, political correctness, any form of religion, sexual preference, compensation or first amendment rights issues - it is instead a strong message to Sirius that they reconsider their programming content."
A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Bayne is a preeminent figure in the long-term care industry. He has appeared before state and federal government legislative agencies in an effort to reform our failed long-term care system.
An accomplished author who stills writes daily, Bayne feels he has nothing to lose by attempting to penetrate the intangible aura surrounding Stern.
"In a Stern world, you live for a burst of hyper-pleasure; for immediate gratification" said Bayne. "There is no honor, integrity or social commitment to the greater community. There is only the expectation of more pleasure. Is that the kind of legacy we want to leave our children?"
Like thousands of Americans, Bayne questions why a company as large as Sirius - which stands to impact society in tremendous ways - would employ someone at $100,000,000 per year to attack the fiber of society. And, like others, Bayne encourages the public to take action - to boycott Sirius.
According to a May 13, 2005 article on www.CNN.com, when deciding whether to equip new cars with Sirius or XM radio, the outcry against Stern led automaker Hyundai to install XM. CNN reports that, "John Krafcik, Hyundai vice president of product development and strategic planning, told Inside Line that executives were stunned by the number of 'unprompted write-ins' on the survey that said customers were 'not comfortable with programming from Stern.'"
Bayne understands the imprint his own work can leave on the public. "Artists are crazy people - often terrorized by their own gifts," said Bayne. "But to a genuine artist that personal suffering is sacred, not profane as Stern would have us believe."
"Changes happen with small actions taken by many, like writing to the management and boycotting Sirius," said Bayne. "Although Stern's messages are often gender-specific - attacking and dehumanizing women, they pull each and every person below humanity and civility."
