A final inventory of neckties, bow ties and cummerbund sets paying tribute to the University of Texas Longhorns football team, newly crowned as national collegiate champions, have been made available by Capital Ties, a New York company.
"Everyone in the country recognizes the Hook 'em hand gesture and its significance in the university's culture," said Stuart Hotchkiss, designer and owner of Capital Ties. "It has allowed me to speak directly to UT supporters not only in Texas but across the country as well."
Hotchkiss used a simple combination of the hand gesture and spiraling college footballs to make his point. "Of course, the key was to print this design on a burnt orange background, the official University of Texas school color," he said. "It turned out to be quite a fashionable color after all."
Hook 'Em neckwear is available exclusively from R. Rose Clothiers in Houston, Capra & Cavelli in Austin, Texas and directly from Capital Ties.
