Anatomy of a Weapons Cache at Bani Dahir Mosque near Haditha

By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze

Over the past month, many weapons caches, large and small, have been confiscated and destroyed by Iraqi and US forces.

Yesterday, while conducting clearing operations at Bani Dahir, near Haditha, Iraqi Army soldiers and Marines found a weapons cache in the mosque courtyard. In terms of quantity, compared to other finds, the cache was small.

Unfortunately, it only takes a few weapons to be extremely lethal.

Captain Jeffrey S. Pool from the 2nd Marine Division provided a slideshow of photos to show what a cache looks like. In his opinion, this looks to be a bomb maker's cache.

There are 15 slides in the presentation, including the following three photos - shown below in case you are unable to view the slides. Click here to view powerpoint presentation.
