Crossfire War - TEHRAN WATCH: Middle East Theatre; Damascus - Tehran - Syria - Iran Sign Strategic Accord - Syria Agrees to Store Sensitive Equipment for Iran and to Continue to Arm Hizbullah

Night Watch: DAMASCUS - The accord was reported in Britain's Jane's Defense Weekly. This is the result of the military axis Iran's then President Mohammad Khatami mentioned last year when he visited Damascus at the end of a four nation trip. The "sensitive equipment" could actually mean nuclear warheads and missiles, in Syria's preparation to help Iran against UN sanctions, or it could also mean that Damascus will be able to use them. The sanctions have mostly a psychological impact since they are so easily circumvented. The most disturbing example of high level, established, circumvention was the engineering firm headquarted in San Francisco that went through its London branch office in order to construct military bases for Iran, the same kind they built for Saudi Arabia during the 1980's. Britain's aristocracy decided to have no embargo against Iran for just that reason and there were obviously those in Washington that went along with it. CNN showed the London office the day after the Gulf War ended in February 1991.

In the near panic the West is experiencing at the realization that Tehran is targeting Vienna-Paris-London more than Jerusalem-Tel Aviv, it appears that the West is trying to hope that somehow they can negotiate their way out of war with Iran and that the Bruncefield oil depot attack was just an accident. The same way they have convinced themselves that Bin Laden can arrange flight school training.

Damascus has also maintained its long standing agreement to continue to arm Hizbullah in southern Lebanon. Hizbullah has stationed 15,000 missiles in the area. This is most likely one of the areas Israel could test the effectiveness of her nuclear arsenal.
