Crossfire War: Nepal Government Refuses Negotiations with Maoists

South Asia Theatre; Kathmandu - Nepal Government Refuses Negotiations with Maoists and States Uprising Has Been Defeated
Night Watch: KATHMANDU - The government of Nepal has rejected any negotiations with the Maoists, who have been conducting guerrilla warfare in the country for nine years. The government has just stated that due to the mobilization of the military the Maoists have been seriously weakened. During the guerrilla campaign more than 11,500 people have been killed and 23,000 Nepalese committed suicide. [

Kathmandu has also announced that municipal elections can still be held even if they are boycotted by the polictical parties. The government has also approached New Delhi calling for good relations. Nepalese writers, who contributed a number of articles to crossfirewar.com, outlined in detail New Delhi's attempt to undermine Nepal by supporting the Maoists and encouraging Indian farmers to encroach on Nepalese territory.
