Candy Palmer-Steele, Javette LLC Named Finalist in 2005 Stevie(R) Awards for Women Entrepreneurs
Candy Palmer-Steele, founder of Javette LLC,
the first single-serving gourmet coffee concentrate, was named a Finalist
in the Best Entrepreneur -- Non Services Business category in The 2005 (2nd
annual) Stevie Awards for Women Entrepreneurs.
The Stevie Awards for Women Entrepreneurs, www.stevieawards.com/women, is
an international awards competition recognizing the accomplishments of
women executives and business owners. The awards are produced by the
creators of the prestigious American Business Awards, hailed as "the
business world's own Oscars" by the New York Post (April 27, 2005).
More than 470 entries were submitted for consideration in over 40
categories, including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Best Young
Entrepreneur, Best New Product and Mentor of the Year.
In true entrepreneurial spirit, Palmer-Steele has taken a grass roots
approach to managing the growth of Javette. Not only did she create
Javette's recipe in her own kitchen, she invested personal savings and
conceptualized the packaging on her own. Knowing that she faces challenges
from a competitive gourmet coffee market, Palmer-Steele has found a niche
for gourmet coffee on the go.
"The winners and Finalists in The 2005 Stevie Awards for Women
Entrepreneurs comprise the most dynamic women in business today. These
executives and entrepreneurs have accomplished innovative and extraordinary
things while building their businesses and serving their communities," said
Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards. "We congratulate all of
them on their achievement."
"I feel honored to be chosen as a finalist for this award," Palmer-Steele
said. "Years of hard work and dedication have gone into building and
growing Javette. The recognition is truly outstanding. We are thankful for
our loyal customers and promise more great things from Javette."
The Stevie Awards for Women Entrepreneurs are governed by a Board of
Distinguished Judges & Advisors that features many leading women
entrepreneurs and figures in American business, including Carrie
Fitzmaurice, publisher for Entrepreneur Media Inc.; Dr. Lisa Krinsky,
chairman & president for SFBC International; and Dr. Betty Spence,
president of The National Association for Female Executives.
