Airborne Patrol Detains 15 Suspects in Operation Eagle Watch
TIKRIT, Iraq - Fifteen suspects were detained Dec. 17 at several locations near Tikrit as part of Operation Eagle Watch by Task Force troops.
The mission was conducted by Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division's 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, who were conducting an area recon near Forward Operating Base Speicher.
The Pathfinders, airborne aboard two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters, observed the suspects at two separate sites and swooped in to investigate.
Several AK47 rifles, two sniper rifles, a RPK Soviet machinegun and hundreds of rounds were confiscated from the suspects, who were taken to a nearby detention facility for questioning.
