Don't Make A New Years Resolution - Make A Pledge To Defeat Local Government Apathy At LocalPolitics101.US
It is not the fault of local government if they are "out of touch." It is the fault of citizens if their local government is out of touch.
RICE LAKE, Wis. (EWORLDWIRE) Dec 16, 2005
Involved citizens are the key to an effective government.
By becoming a Local Government Activist (LGA) a citizen only needs to pledge to attend one local government meeting a year. It can be any meeting of any local government.
The mere presence of citizens at these government meetings forces local officials to take notice that they are being watched. It is only natural that if local officials know they are being monitored by concerned citizens, they will do a more thorough job of research and deliberation. It is free to register as an LGA and free to attend these local government meetings.
The 2006 goal is to register 250,000 citizens nationwide who are willing to attend one meeting to listen, watch and learn.
