Coyote Point Systems Unveils New Enterprise-Class Application Front End Systems

High-Performance Hardware With SSL Acceleration, Advanced Compression, Bandwidth Management, Application Firewall and SNMP Network Management Equip Coyote Point for Broad Enterprise Adoption

INTEROP -- Coyote Point Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Web application acceleration systems, announced an extensive new set of application front-end systems and add-on modules designed for enterprise-class application delivery and traffic management requirements. The new Coyote Point Equalizer Extreme II offerings include an enterprise-class hardware platform capable of handling up to 100,000 connections per second, advanced SSL acceleration, content compression, bandwidth management, application firewall rule sets and SNMP network management.

"Coyote Point's new enterprise offerings continue to flesh out the product offering and broaden Coyote Point's market footprint," said Peter Christy, Principal of Internet Research Group, a Silicon Valley analyst organization that has tracked the server load balancing and traffic management market since its inception. "Coyote Point provides cost-effective traffic management solutions that are sufficient for the vast majority of enterprise load-balancing requirements. These additions extend those cost-effective offerings further still."

Coyote Point's new application front-end systems and add-on modules can be integrated in any combination for server load balancing, application traffic management, SSL acceleration, content compression, bandwidth management and/or global load balancing on its multi-function Equalizer Series systems. The new Equalizer Extreme II systems are capable of processing more than 100,000 connections per second with greater than 1 gigabit per second of throughput.

"The Coyote Point Equalizer Extreme systems we use at our E-commerce site are reliable and stable; this allows us to provide a highly available and scalable service to our customers and business," said Jim Chan, Director of IS for CafePress.com. "Coyote Point's new Equalizer Extreme II with application front end compression and bandwidth management offering is good news and will enable greater efficiencies for datacenter operations."

Coyote Point's new offerings include a tightly integrated suite of advanced hardware and software capabilities:

-- The Equalizer Extreme II systems are based on the Dell PowerEdge 1850
1U rackmount network server for complex Layer 7 rule processing with
performance comparable to F5 Networks' BIG-IP 3400 systems.

-- The optional Application Compression module adds gzip compression for
http/https objects, enabling accelerated content delivery capabilities
while saving an average of one-third of network bandwidth.

-- The optional Xcel II SSL Acceleration module based on Cavium's high-
performance NITROX technology can encrypt up to 10,000 SSL transactions per
second to offload e-commerce servers from CPU-intensive encryption tasks.

-- The optional Bandwidth Management module allocates and reserves first-
mile bandwidth in streams that can be dedicated to or prioritized for any
combination of up to 64 virtual server clusters.

-- The Packet Filtering module adds firewall rule sets for datacenter
environments that prefer an integrated application firewall/traffic
    management topology.

-- The Network Management module adds an enterprise-class SNMP MIB for
interoperability with leading network management systems, particularly
useful when used in conjunction with the optional Envoy Global Server Load
Balancing module in failover and disaster recovery environments and for
    multi-national e-commerce.

"Our new enterprise platform offerings expand the reach of our Equalizer products to enterprises with application front end requirements of nearly every size and type," said Bill Kish, Coyote Point's CEO and CTO. "With our new high-end systems, advanced application acceleration capabilities and other enterprise-class platform technologies, Coyote Point is leveraging experience gained with more than 3,000 customers to deliver advanced enterprise-class capabilities for mainstream datacenters and their demanding application delivery requirements."

Pricing & Availability

Coyote Point's new Equalizer Extreme II systems are priced starting at $9,995. A fully configured Equalizer Extreme II Series system -- equipped with Xcel II SSL acceleration, Compression, Bandwidth Management and Envoy Global Server Load Balancing modules -- is priced at $26,000, with a high-availability pair at $52,000. Equalizer Extreme II systems, including packet filtering rule sets and SNMP network management, and the optional Xcel II Acceleration and Compression modules, are available immediately. The Bandwidth Management module will be available in Q106.
