World's Leading Video Security Products Manufacturer Trusts Infoblox to Deliver Essential DNS, DHCP and IPAM Services

Infoblox Inc., a developer of essential infrastructure for identity-driven networks, today announced that Pelco, the world's largest video security equipment manufacturer, has selected and deployed Infoblox appliances to deliver highly reliable and manageable domain name system (DNS), dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) and IP address management (IPAM) services.

Pelco, which offers more than 4,500 finished products via a network of dealers in more than 130 countries, is committed to continue its position as the best supplier of video security equipment in the industry. Making customer satisfaction and quality top priorities is key to maintaining that position. In order to do that, Pelco's employees and partners rely heavily on the company's network. Nonstop DNS, DHCP and IPAM services are required to keep that network available 24x7.

Pelco previously relied on Microsoft Active Directory and Windows servers/domain controllers deployed throughout its highly distributed network to deliver the essential DNS, DHCP and IPAM services. However, slow response times for Active Directory, fault-tolerance shortcomings, security vulnerabilities and overly cumbersome and frequent upgrade requirements burdened Pelco's already stretched IT staff and compromised network availability.

To address these concerns, Pelco selected and deployed throughout its distributed network Infoblox appliances running the DNSone module. The purpose-built Infoblox appliances deliver nonstop DNS, DHCP and IPAM network identity services in a secure and easy-to-manage form factor.

Randy Williams, global IT operations manager for Pelco, commented: "There were intermittent reliability or configuration issues every couple of days with our old solution. Simply put, Infoblox is more reliable and easier for staff to configure and administer. This is especially useful for remote office deployment."

Pelco has deployed multiple Infoblox appliances throughout its highly distributed domestic network and integrated the solution with Microsoft Active Directory in the back-end of its infrastructure. Next, the IT team plans to deploy Infoblox appliances throughout its international facilities.
