Known for its innovative sports nutrition products such as Accelerade sports drink, PacificHealth Labs, Inc. today announced it has initiated an innovative new marketing effort by launching an official corporate blog.

The "Powering Muscles" blog site "> is an extension of the company's existing educational website, "> which provides nutrition information for athletes in all sports, as well as for non-athletes, exercisers and anyone interested in personal fitness.

By creating its own official corporate blog, PacificHealth Labs joins a small group of forward-thinking corporations seeking to harness the relatively new medium of blogs to increase brand awareness, brand loyalty and sales. Among the few other companies already maintaining corporate blogs are the Ford Motor Company, yogurt-maker Stonyfield Farm and Boeing.

According to PacificHealth Labs endurance products brand manager Matt Vecchione, the Powering Muscles blog will be updated six days a week and will publish a mix of material, including new product information, updates from sponsored athletes, sports nutrition news and commentary, consumer testimonials and questions and answers to consumer questions.

"Many of our customers are fanatical about our products," said Vecchione. "The Powering Muscles blog is a way to allow these loyal customers to participate in the life of the company. But at the same time we anticipate that the educational component of the blog will appeal to athletes and exercisers who have never even heard of our products."
