Chick-fil-A Opening New Free-Standing Restaurant in Barboursville Dec. 8; First 100 Adults in Line to Earn a Free One-Year Supply of Chick-fil-A
New Location Will Become Second Free-Standing Chick-fil-A Restaurant in West Virginia
Chick-fil-A will open the state's second
free-standing
Chick-fil-A restaurant in Barboursville Dec. 8 by giving away nearly
$26,000 in free food in the first 15 minutes of business to the first 100
in line.
The Dec. 8 opening of the new Chick-fil-A restaurant, located at 148 Melody
Farms Rd., will include the awarding of a free year supply of Chick-fil-A
combo meals (52 coupons) to each of the first 100 adults in line by 6 a.m.
Those 18 years and older can line up 24 hours in advance, with the year
supplies being awarded on
Dec. 8 sometime between 6 and 6:30 a.m. The restaurant will open
immediately after the awarding of the prizes.
"We've given away a total of more than $3 million in free Chick-fil-A food
since we started the 'First 100 Fans' promotion two years ago," said Dan
Cathy, son of the chain's founder Truett Cathy. "This event has attracted
Chick-fil-A raving fans from across the country to be among the first 100
in line." Chick-fil-A launched its "First 100 Fans" promotion in Oct. 2003
in Phoenix and has continued the event at every free-standing and in-line
restaurant grand opening across the country.
Larry Pittman, who has operated the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Huntington
Mall for nearly 25 years, will operate the new free-standing restaurant in
Barboursville in addition to the mall location. He and his wife, Linda,
have been married for 25 years and have 3 children.
The new restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 10
p.m., closing on Sunday. The breakfast menu includes the popular chicken
biscuit, three premium custom-roasted Cafe Blends Coffees, and its new
Chick-fil-A Cinnamon Cluster, fresh-baked mini swirls filled with sweet
cinnamon served warm with a creamy vanilla icing.
Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A is the nation's second-largest quick-service
chicken restaurant chain with nearly
1,235 restaurants in 38 states and Washington D.C. The chain expects to
build more than 77 locations this year, including 60 free-standing units.
