Lead-Acid Battery Web Site Launches as Online Resource for Battery Information
Uses Range From Automobiles to Golf Carts, the Hybrid Car, and More
Responding to a need for more information about
lead-acid batteries and the critical role they play in today's society, the
Battery Council International has launched a Web site dedicated to provide
ongoing, up-to-date information on the lead acid battery industry and its
applications.
"We are very excited to be able to contribute an additional resource to
journalists, teachers, students and anyone else who is interested in
learning about the myriad ways these batteries power our everyday lives,"
said Randy Hart, President of The Battery Council International, the trade
association for the lead acid battery industry.
The Web site offers information on the role of the lead acid battery in
numerous applications, including cars, boats and golf carts, as well as
alternative uses such as in solar energy, wind energy and the hybrid car.
In addition, the site includes an updated feed of news related to the lead
acid battery and instructions on how to jump start a car battery.
The site also discusses lead acid battery recycling, providing the latest
statistics on recycling of the nation's most recycled consumer products.
"We hope that this site will be of use to anyone who is looking for current
information on the lead acid battery and the contributions they make to our
modern lives," Hart added.
