Keeping A Business Safe Makes Sense: New Safety Product From Office Zone
Making a few simple changes to the way a business is run may prevent future injuries.
KAYSVILLE, Utah (EWORLDWIRE) Nov 14, 2005
Safety is an important aspect of any business. There are several simple steps that can be taken to prevent injury to employees and customers, such as placing cables and cords under rugs to prevent tripping and keeping isles open and clear in order to prevent personal injury.
Some accidents can't be prevented, and can happen on a weekly basis: a jar of food breaks, an entryway is wet from rain or the custodian has recently mopped the floor. A combination of a slippery substance with smooth floor, cement or tile could create a dangerous environment. The end result could be an accident causing injury to a customer or employee.
Signage indicating exits and evacuation plans can prevent confusion and problems in an emergency situation. Even "Wet Floor" signs are helpful but commonly overlooked. Safety signs, commonly found in grocery stores or office complex, are usually bilingual and bright orange, green or yellow in order to catch the eye and immediately draw attention. People behave with caution once alerted by these sign and this leads to fewer accidents and lawsuits.
In an effort to save space and improve response time, a new tent-style safety sign is now available. It is taller, brighter, saves more space and has more visible surface area than traditional cones. The sign is spring-loaded and fits nicely in a cylindrical container that can be stored in a closet or hung on a wall.
In the event of an accident, the lightwieght and stable container can be used to eject the cone with the flick of a wrist. The cone's tripod design makes it sturdy and durable.
Wet floors are difficult to see, and water in low-lit areas of stores and businesses can be almost invisible. Posting sign leads people to proceed with caution, steering away fom the dangerous area. When the slippery floor is brought to the attention of customers and employees, people are usually able to properly prepare themselves for the slippery conditions. Prevention will eliminate costly injuries and liability issues.
