SULLIVAN Wins Key Contract to Support DAPS Facilities, Defense Logistics Agency
San Diego-based firm Sullivan International
Group, Inc. announced today that the firm has won a contract award to
provide professional services to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)
Document Automation & Production Service (DAPS). DAPS is responsible for
document automation and printing within the Department of Defense, and its
mission encompasses electronic conversion, retrieval, output, and
distribution of digital and hard copy information.
SULLIVAN and its subcontractor Jardon-Howard Technologies (JHT) of Orlando,
Florida, will provide approximately 55 full-time staff members to DAPS
under this contract issued from Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia. SULLIVAN
will supply 28 of these employees and hold full contractual responsibility
at all locations served under the contract. Partner JHT will supply 25 to
28 employees. The contract will include staffing DAPS facilities at Naval
Station Norfolk Virginia, Naval Base Norfolk Virginia, Defense Distribution
Depot Richmond Virginia, Langley AFB Virginia, Fort Campbell Kentucky, Fort
Knox Kentucky, Arnold AFB Tennessee, Seymour-Johnson AFB North Carolina,
Camp LeJeune North Carolina, and Cherry Point North Carolina. Additionally,
SULLIVAN is expecting a follow-on contract award for the Jacksonville DAPS
later this month, which will be much larger than the Norfolk award and will
place 22 full-time SULLIVAN employees at Warner-Robins AFB in Macon, GA.
Twelve additional staff will be placed at NAS Jacksonville, FL and three at
MacDill AFB, FL.
Providing excellent logistical services to government and commercial
clients since SULLIVAN was founded in 1998 is nothing new. What is new is
the DAPS contracts are expanding the breadth and scope of SULLIVAN's
professional service offerings to the Midwest and several states beyond on
the eastern seaboard. Steven Sullivan, CEO of SULLIVAN, stated, "The
partnership with DLA has elevated SULLIVAN from local/regional logistics
support to servicing a vastly expanded logistics and technical service
footprint. Our company will now support installations with missions based
nationwide, and that opens up a range of new strategic opportunities for
SULLIVAN--at a key time of growth."
The DLA supplies the nation's military services and several civilian
agencies with the critical resources they need to accomplish their
missions. SULLIVAN is pleased to partner with an agency with a rich history
providing wide-ranging logistical support for peacetime and wartime
operations, as well as emergency preparedness and humanitarian missions.
SULLIVAN ranked 7th on the 2004 Inc 500 list of the fastest-growing
privately held companies, with a five-year average annual sales growth rate
of 1977%. Founded in 1998, SULLIVAN is a professional services company
providing science, engineering, and advanced technology services to
commercial and government clients throughout the United States.
