Crossfire War: 60,000 in Victory Square Protest Sunday's Parliamentary Election
By Willard Payne
TEHRAN WATCH: Caucasus - Caspian Theatre; Baku
Night Watch: BAKU - The protesters were carrying organge flags and placards that read, "We are against Bush and the falsified elections." The Yeni Azerbaijan (New Azerbaijan) ruling party retained its majority. [

Because of the anti-Bush statement leads me to suspect that at least some of the demonstrators have had strategic consultations with Tehran. Recently the U. S. announced the construction of radar stations in the country, that can be used by any Allied nation that may deploy forces to this South Caucasus region, bordering the Caspian.
It was this past June when CrossfireWar.com mentioned the defense agreement signed between Baku and Tehran in which both capitals agreed not to allow any third nation to construct military bases that can be used to attack each other. Tehran may have planned to use these demonstrations to provoke unrest to such an extent as to have the Azerbaijan government replaced.
