Mobile Billboards of Las Vegas Announces Gasoline-Free Friction-Based Power System
Alternative Energy Source Does not Require the Use of a Generator, Oil or Gasoline
Marla Letizia's Mobile Billboards of Las
Vegas, in conjunction with inventor Toby Kinkaid, announces the release of
an economically- and environmentally-sound alternative power source. The
Friction Drive Power System (SK-2000), patent pending, feeds power to the
400 square feet of billboard space on each of the eight Mobile Billboards
of Las Vegas (MBBLV) vehicles.
The SK-2000 unit uses the friction initiated once the vehicle is in motion
to charge two batteries, giving life to the truck's 12 high-powered lights.
This system requires no oil or gasoline in order to generate power,
therefore reducing the use of gasoline in the fleet altogether. With the
rising costs of fuel and the increase in pollution, the SK-2000 provides an
alternative that will help reduce costs and environmental threats. With the
flip of a switch, the energy that has been collected during daylight hours
is used to illuminate the two 10-foot by 20-foot vinyl billboards on each
truck. The energy source is independent from the vehicle's factory-issued
power and installation is as simple as mounting the wheel and connecting
the electrical wires.
This is the first such product in history that supplies power to a
vehicle's components through regular operation. Letizia led the charge to
develop an alternative lighting method as the use of a generator poses not
only environmental threats, but is noisy and unsafe. Due to generators
running on gasoline or oil, they have a high combustibility rate upon
impact, which is a safety concern when dealing in mobile advertising.
MBBLV's main goal is to provide the highest level of exposure for their
clients while maintaining the highest standards in safety.
"With all of the available technology we have at our finger tips in 2005,
it's hard to believe that no one had come up with this concept yet," said
Marla Letizia, president and CEO of Mobile Billboards of Las Vegas. "Our
Friction Drive Power System is safer and quieter than a generator and does
not require a fuel source to work. Our fleet now has the capability of
becoming mobile power plants, solidifying our place as the nation's leader
in the mobile advertising industry," she added.
Letizia and Kinkaid spent more than six months developing the single-wheel
system, and believes it not only revolutionizes and reinvents the mobile
advertising industry, but can also be used on recreational vehicles,
tractor-trailers, military vehicles and any other vehicles needing mobile
electricity. Vehicles using the friction-based system will be able to
provide power to internal components, from microwaves and refrigerators to
interior lighting and electronic equipment.
Mobile Billboards of Las Vegas is located at 5460 Desert Point, Las Vegas,
Nevada 89118. The company's fleet consists of eight full-service trucks
that provide more than 630 avails per month for clients' messages such as
Mandalay Bay, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Sahara Hotel and Casino,
Lotus Broadcasting, Findlay Toyota, Saks Fifth Avenue and Subway, to name a
few. MBBLV can operate in any market nationally. For more information on
