Discovery Channel's "American Hot Rod" Crew to Serve as Grand Marshal for NASCAR Busch Series at Dallas
Boyd and Jo Coddington to Command "Gentlemen, Start Your Engines" for the O'Reilly Challenge
It was announced that legendary hot rodder Boyd
Coddington and his crew including shop supervisor Duane Mayer and metal
fabricator Dan Sobieski, all of whom can be seen weekly in the hit
television series "American Hot Rod," will serve as Grand Marshal for the
O'Reilly Challenge NASCAR Busch race Saturday, November 5 at Texas Motor
Speedway. The O'Reilly Challenge will be a key event in determining the
2005 NASCAR Busch Series champion and broadcast on TNT. As part of his
Grand Marshal duties Coddington, whom was named national spokesperson for
O'Reilly Automotive in 2004, will ride in the official pace car along side
his wife Jo Coddington. The Coddingtons will then command, "Gentlemen,
Start Your Engines."
"It's very exciting to be a part of such an exciting and fast-paced event,"
said Coddington. "We're honored to be here to help represent O'Reilly Auto
Parts for this race."
Fans of "American Hot Rod" will be able to get a behind-the-scenes view of
all the excitement as the Discovery crew films the 3-day event. "American
Hot Rod," airing on Discovery Channel (Mondays 8:00 pm E/P) draws millions
of fans each week to watch legendary hot rodder Boyd Coddington and his
staff as they conceptualize, design, build and unveil a continuing lineup
of cutting-edge hot rods.
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series regulars expected to race in the O'Reilly
Challenge are Ryan Newman, Rusty Wallace, Jamie McMurray, Carl Edwards,
Greg Biffle, Bobby Labonte, Kasey Kahne, Joe Nemechek, Michael Waltrip,
Kyle Busch and Elliott Sadler.
NASCAR Busch Series regulars that will compete in the O'Reilly Challenge
are Reed Sorenson, Denny Hamlin, Kenny Wallace, Paul Menard, Jason Keller,
David Green, David Stremme, Ashton Lewis, J.J. Yeley, Johnny Sauter, Jon
Wood, Stacy Compton and Justin Labonte.
"American Hot Rod" is produced by Pilgrim Films and Television with Craig
