American Physical Therapy Association Again Named as One of Washingtonian Magazine's "Great Places to Work"
The American Physical Therapy Association
(APTA) was selected for the second time as one of the "Great Places to
Work" by Washingtonian magazine. APTA first received this award in October
2003.
APTA was among 55 organizations chosen for this recognition. The bi-annual
award is based on interesting and challenging work, quality of employee
salaries and benefits, collegial staff, employment stability, flexibility,
and employee development opportunities. "I am very pleased that APTA has
once again received this distinction," said APTA Chief Executive Officer
Francis J Mallon, Esq. "APTA is committed to providing a high-quality work
environment for our staff as we continue to make great things happen for
the physical therapy profession!"
Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, APTA employs more than 170 staff to
meet its objectives in the areas of accreditation, clinical research,
continuing education, legislative representation, women's initiatives,
minority and international issues, practice issues, public relations,
publications, and more.
The "Great Places to Work" article is in the October issue of The
Washingtonian magazine, which will be on newsstands on or about October 21,
2005.
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a national professional
organization representing more than 67,000 members throughout the United
States. The Association's efforts are directed toward serving its members
and the public by increasing the understanding of the physical therapist's
role in the nation's health care system and by fostering advancements in
physical therapy practice, education, and research.
