IDVelocity Makes Dramatic Move to Speed RFID Adoption

Company Licensing RFID Compliancy Software Effectively Free

IDVelocity, in a bold move to lower the costs of complying with RFID mandates from Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, and the Department of Defense, is offering its ComplianceNow software effectively free. For the same cost as IDVelocity originally charged for one year of maintenance and support, companies can license the software and receive their first year of maintenance and support to meet their mandates. The price is $5,500 per instance of software with no limit to the number of devices or users attached to the instance of software. In addition, the software is double byte enabled allowing the ComplianceNow software to be deployed in any single byte or double byte language, a tremendous advantage as organizations begin to push the tagging requirements to the point of manufacture.

"We are not interested in marketing gimmicks or creating hype," stated Terry Massey, COO, IDVelocity. "RFID isn't easy and there are no shortcuts. But we can certainly make it easier and more affordable. Because of this we are making this program only available through our Partner Channel, a group of companies experienced in recommending, sourcing and implementing the appropriate tags, readers, printers, business process and installation services. Companies that license ComplianceNow will be successful due to the experience and dedication of our partners."

Partners such as International Paper, NCR, Paxar Canada, RFID Global Solution, Technology Solutions Company, ASFT and Unbeaten Path are incorporating their own value-add offerings to bring companies facing these mandates into compliance quickly and effectively. "There are tremendous benefits in using RFID to improve supply chain performance," said Ken Hamlin, CEO, IDVelocity. "Unfortunately, due to the cost of becoming compliant many companies have not realized the practicality and strength of the technology. Our offering is designed to move them past compliance. We have made it as simple and inexpensive as possible with no device fees, user fees, etc. Once this burden is off their shoulders our Partner channel will be able to introduce these companies to the powerful impact that business processes utilizing RFID, biotechnology, PLC integration and other Auto-ID technology created and deployed through IDVelocity's ADC platform can truly deliver."
