Crossfire War: Iran - Iraq to Facilitate Military Cooperation Against Occuptaion
By Willard Payne
Night Watch: TEHRAN - In a further sign of continued cooperation, Iraq's Special Envoy Salem Oudeh al-Maliki has just consulted with Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
While publicly admitting they discussed more energy and trade cooperation, privately, in their discussions on regional issues, they approved increased attacks against the lost alliance, US/UK. The increased pressure on the occupation will reduce the chance of the US-British units of being used on other fronts.
Tehran-Baghdad-Riyadh may also realize it would encourage military cooperation among the rival Sunni-Shi'ite militia groups instead of attacking each other, by concentrating on the greater enemy. Mottaki may also have conveyed the message that it is also the view of the Persian Gulf capitals he has just visited.
