Miracle Happening in Iraq: Positive Progress

Since June this year, there have been signs the tide was turning. The signs were so obvious that a blind dog could sense them. The two main signs were Sunnis stating they made a mistake in boycotting the elections and the second their realization that the terrorists didn’t care about them.

The mainstream media didn’t see this and continued writing negatively, even when there were positive events to report. Negative news sells more newspapers and gets more visitors.

Democrat blogs such as DailyKos and Atrios continue to demand the US pull out of Iraq immediately, because in their eyes, we are losing. Either they are blinded by media reports or by partisan hatred. So NewsBlaze published America – Superpower or Fair Weather Friend?.

Of cource, America is not a fairweather friend and will not bow down to terrorists or leave Iraqi women and children to defend themselves against terrorists.

Then Cindy Sheehan came on the scene, pumped up by antiwar groups with their own agenda. Sheehan wanted to save other mothers the trauma of losing a son or daughter, a noble cause. But neither Cindy nor the groups that used her as a front have any compassion for the millions of women and children in Iraq. Perhaps they expect the terrorists will go home to their 9 to 5 jobs if we leave immediately.

Then along came Katrina, a raging devil that destroyed lives and homes and tore at the fabric of U.S. society, causing a disaster that was not handled well by all levels of government.

Since Katrina, the mainstream media’s focus is no longer on Iraq. There is bigger news that commands their short attention span. Many accuse the government of inability to handle two things at once, but it seems the media can’t handle it, either.

While the media has been distracted, events in Iraq have miraculously moved in a positive direction.

More and more, Iraqis are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, realizing that democracy and freedom are within their grasp and that the terrorists only have a message of destruction and hopelessness.

The road to democracy and peace is not straight and there will be more casualties, but with assistance from friends, Iraq will make it. The Iraqis and we owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women in the multi-national military who do understand what is at stake and are working for freedom. They deserve all the support we can give them, even more so, now the tide has turned.

Hopefully, the media will only remember something is going in in Iraq, on October 15th, the day of the referendum – we’re doing much better without them.
