Healthcare Innovation Organization Forms Board And Confirms CEO
JACKSON, N.J. (EWORLDWIRE) Oct 5, 2005
Strategic Initiatives In Healthcare, LLC (SIH) officially formed its Board of Directors and promoted Thomas W. MacVaugh from Interim President to the post of President and CEO on September 28, 2005 in Philadelphia. The Board was formed following 21,000 hours of research and development conducted by SIH into the challenges facing the healthcare provider community, which challenges SIH concluded, required organizational change.
"In 2003 when colleague, fellow board member and SIH founder William McFaul first discussed his vision of creating a company capable of enabling healthcare providers to successfully execute change management strategies I was skeptical of any organization being able to take on such an overwhelming challenge," said John Reiss, Ph.D. J.D., board spokesperson. "Those of us who know the industry, and see the footprint of healthcare evolving, understand that the survival of providers in the future will depend on their ability to build collaboration and cohesion to enable their organizations to embrace change. My fellow board members and I decided to listen carefully to any plausible concept because we recognize the need to address this critical problem."
Fellow board member Paul Ramey added, "Many healthcare providers may recognize Bill McFaul's name from his days with McFaul and Lyons, Inc. and associate him as being one of healthcare's foremost innovators when it deals with expense and change management. Having worked closely with him for many years, I recognized several of the concepts he innovated regarding behavioral modification for processes, procedures and products were years ahead of other firms in healthcare. With his record of accomplishments that include in excess of 100,000 change interventions for more than 1,300 hospitals throughout the US and Canada, I was pleased and excited to be part of a venture to dramatically enhance those innovations."
According to MacVaugh, "A large part of SIH's R&D was conferring with CEOs, CFOs and other key executives of larger hospitals, health systems and networks to identify their current and projected needs. These concerns were the catalyst for developing the core concepts of SIH. To a great extent, many of the critical challenges facing providers today are a result of decades of a lack of cohesive processes and systems to address complex issues facing their organizations. I'm very excited that what we've created at SIH will truly enable Health Provider Organizations to create permanent processes to execute organization-wide change management strategies, regardless of the initiative in question."
MacVaugh joined the firm in November 2004 as a vice president, and participated in the R&D prior to assuming the role of Interim President in May, 2005.
The inaugural board meeting in Philadelphia provided the newly appointed board with an overview of the core concepts and services of SIH, and established various roles and responsibilities of the board and its members. The following individuals currently serve on the SIH Board:
