IdeaBlade Completes First Institutional Round of Financing

Funding Enables IdeaBlade to Capitalize on Emerging Demand for Productivity Tools that Simplify the Implementation of Microsoft .NET Applications

EMERYVILLE, Calif., Sept. 27, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- IdeaBlade Corporation, a leading provider of innovative developer productivity suites and middleware for the Microsoft .NET environment, today announced the completion of its first institutional financing round. The round is led by Convergence Partners, a Silicon Valley early-stage venture capital firm and includes the participation of several prominent individual investors. The infusion of capital will be used to accelerate market adoption of IdeaBlade's breakthrough Productivity Suite for the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Ideablade's solutions dramatically accelerate time to market by reducing the cost and complexity of building competitive Microsoft .NET applications. In addition, IdeaBlade greatly simplifies the implementation of Microsoft Smart Client applications. Microsoft Smart Clients combine the power and richness of desktop applications with the availability of thin client Internet applications.

An early adopter of IdeaBlade technology is Broadlane, a provider of business services to the healthcare industry. Also participating in the financing round is Robb Wilmot, the former ICL CEO. Wilmot is an accomplished private investor with a history of successful startup investments including 7 IPO's and 9 strategic acquisitions. This is not the first time Wilmot has teamed with Albert Wang, co-founder of IdeaBlade. VXtreme, Wilmot's previous investment with Wang, sold to Microsoft in 1997 and is now a core technology in the Windows Media Player.
