Santa Cruz County, Ariz. Licenses New World Systems' Local Government Software on the .Net Platform
New World Systems, a leading provider of
enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced today
that Santa Cruz County, Ariz., signed a contract valued at $500,000 for New
World's services and to license its integrated Logos.NET(TM) Public
Administration suite of products on the Microsoft® .Net platform.
Santa Cruz County licensed Logos.NET Financial Management, Payroll and
Human Resources Management, and several optional software modules to
improve internal processes and maximize resources using the familiar
Microsoft desktop environment.
"The system we've been using is 30 years old and difficult to use," said
Jennifer St. John, administrative services director, Santa Cruz County,
Ariz. "We want new technology that is user friendly, efficient and
provides easy access to real-time information when we need it. New World's
browser-based Logos.NET solution is the best fit for the county."
The built-in, event-alert notifications and workflow technologies in
Logos.NET automatically display tasks requiring attention by the user, such
as reports, purchase approvals or exception-oriented activities. Improving
internal processes is essential to the county. A
browser-based solution, Logos.NET supports a decentralized environment,
allowing each department to access its own budget status in real-time,
enter daily hours for payroll, look up vacation and sick days, etc.,
without having to contact various departments for the information.
"At any given time, authorized individuals from any departments will be
able to see the status of a payment or purchase, look up any line item
within their budget or initiate a purchase, which will be a major time
savings for everyone," said St. John.
Flexible reporting capabilities was a key factor in choosing New World,
because the county has several customized reports along with several
reports required by the county, state and federal government. Logos.NET
supports importing and exporting data into Excel®, allows the county to
use current forms and authorized users to create reports that can be
automatically run on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc., schedule.
As a Microsoft Certified Partner, New World has committed the development
resources required to build and deploy robust solutions designed for all
sizes of government agencies. Logos.NET was developed using proven
Microsoft .NET technology,
industry-standard Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000 database. From
customizable screens to full suite integration, it will provide government
officials fast and easy access to information.
"We are excited and positive about implementing Logos.NET," said St. John.
Santa Cruz County provides services to approximately 40,000 citizens and
supports a workforce of 425. New World and the County are looking to begin
implementation immediately.
