AMCP Salutes Medicare Milestone
The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP)
salutes all of the individuals who have worked so hard to ensure that
Medicare beneficiaries will have access to much needed medications and
medication therapy.
"Whether within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) or on
the part of the Part D sponsors that were announced today, we recognize
that building this landmark social program in the truncated timeline
allowed was a significant accomplishment on the part of all parties," said
Judith Cahill, executive director of AMCP.
AMCP recognizes the intense efforts that a very dedicated and diverse group
produced, requiring all of the involved parties to design, perfect and
implement an extraordinarily complex undertaking. The Academy looks
forward to continuing to work with CMS, Part D stakeholders and beneficiary
organizations as the program unfolds.
The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) is a national professional
association of pharmacists and other health care practitioners who serve
society by the application of sound medication management principles and
strategies to achieve positive patient outcomes. The Academy's 4,800
members develop and provide a diversified range of clinical, educational
and business management services and strategies on behalf of the more than
200 million Americans covered by a managed care pharmacy benefit. More news
and information about AMCP can be obtained on their website, at
www.amcp.org.
