Triple Crown Necktie Crosses Finish Line

NEW YORK (EWORLDWIRE) Sep 21, 2005

A new necktie commemorating the rare feat of winning the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes in the same year was released today by Capital Ties, a New York company.

"It's a unique necktie," said Stuart Hotchkiss, Designer and Owner of Capital Ties, "because it looks first and foremost like an attractive fashion tie with a horse motif. Only when one closely examines the images in the design repeat does it sink in that it's a tribute tie as well."

There are four images shown on the necktie in a repeated fashion: a horse and jockey (with the number "3" on the horse blanket), a red rose to symbolize the Kentucky Derby, a black-eyed Susan to symbolize the Preakness, and a white pine tree to symbolize the Belmont Stakes. Hotchkiss took the liberty to recolor the tree to make it tonal with the background color of the tie.

Hotchkiss adds in his marketing pitch that the hunt for the Triple Crown "rekindles our interest in thoroughbred racing each spring as owners chase after fame and fortune."

The Triple Crown necktie is available in both mango and light blue background colors and retails for $65.00. The bow tie is availble in mango and retails for $45.00. Cummerbunds are also available in mango for $85.00. The formal wear set sells for $120.00.

Capital Ties neckwear is made in the United States from 100 percent imported silk twill fabric. Neckties measure 58 inches long and 3 3/4 inches wide. Bow ties are 2 1/2 inches high in the classic butterfly shape and must be tied. Ladies fashion scarves are 36 inches square with hand-rolled edges.

Select neckwear is currently being distributed to 31 leading men's clothing and specialty stores across the United States. All neckwear can be viewed and purchased online at www.capitalties.com
