The HR-XML meeting includes education and working sessions for a range of
HR-XML Consortium projects, including benefits enrollment, assessments, and
Staffing Exchange Protocol (SIDES). Highlights include:
-- An Introduction to Microsoft Indigo, Nick Lewis, Senior Developer
Advisor, Microsoft. Indigo is the pre-release name given to Microsoft's
new unified messaging platform built to support Web services and services-
oriented programming. Indigo's unified programming model for building
connected systems extends the .NET Framework 2.0 with additional
application programming interfaces (APIs), These include APIs for building
secure Web services that interoperate with non-Microsoft platforms and
integrate with existing investments. Learn about how Indigo technology is
poised to accelerate and enhance web services implementations in the HR
domain.
-- Business Process Execution Language (BPEL): A Introduction and Panel
Discussion, John Evdemon, Industry Solutions Architecture, Microsoft; David
Shaffer, Director Product Mgmt, Oracle BPEL Process Mgr. The Business
Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS) is a powerful tool
for describing and automating workflow. This session will explore how BPEL

Investment. Attend this session to learn about HR-XML, its mission, its
history, its methodology, and how you can get the most out of participating
within HR-XML.
-- Benefits Enrollment. Enrollment breakout sessions will introduce
newcomers to HR-XML's Enrollment Specification and discuss changes
necessary to support Medicare Part D and Health Care Spending Accounts.
-- Assessments. The HR-XML Consortium's Assessments Specification
provides a simple way to integrate applicant tracking and other HR systems
with assessment providers. The workgroup's current activities involve
integrating test content between assessment providers and recruiting/HR
systems.
-- Background Checking. The workgroup is continuing work on documentation
and Web services implementation guidance for the next version of HR-XML's
Background Checking Specification.
-- SIDES/SEP. Staffing Industry Data Exchange (SIDES) is a complete set
of specifications for automating the staffing supply chain. Staffing
Exchange Protocol provides a practical, flexible standard for handling job
postings, candidate profiles and resumes. Current maintenance requests will
be deliberated.
