Crossfire War: SE Asia - Iran Security Head Visits Kuala Lumpur - Nuclear Iran

By Willard Payne

Night Watch: KUALA LUMPUR - Iran’s Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi arrived today in Malaysia’s capital and conferred with Malaysian Parliament Speaker Ramli Nagh Talib.

Both officials, as expected, agreed that Iran has an indisputable right to pursue its nuclear program, which they both stated is for peaceful purposes. Boroujerdi added that Iran believed in confidence building. After the meeting he remarked to IRNA that the two nations can cooperate much more fully than they have been and that Iran’s government will do more to support promotion of ties and cooperation between the two countries.

On Saturday Boroujerdi is scheduled to meet Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Off the record I suspect the real reason for Boroujerdi’s visit, other that to state more indications of the two nations cooperating, militarily, but also to thank Kuala Lumpur for being such an important part of the nuclear network that has enabled Islamic countries to possess nuclear weaponry.

Kuala Lumpur is quite proud of its role and wants the Jihad to acheive all of its territorial and economic aims. This is the most important meeting between the two capitals in three years, when Iran’s then President Mohammad Khatami visited Kuala Lumpur in July 2002, accompanied by a 91-member delegation. Leaders from both countries were saying Islam should have more say in world affairs.

This "confidence building", referred to by Boroujerdi, they intend to result in successful cooperation against India and Thailand. They will definitely also see if the Jihad has any potential to control Myanmar and direct more of the region’s resources toward Islamic capitals and to China.
