Corr Wireless Signs Multi-Year ALI Link Agreement

TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a global leader in mission critical wireless communications, today announced that Corr Wireless has signed a multi-year contract for TCS' ALI Link(TM) service. The contract allows Corr Wireless to connect to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), irrespective of Automatic Location Identification (ALI) type, thereby simplifying and streamlining the PSAP querying process. This contract will supplement the phase II ALI services previously provided to Corr Wireless by TCS.

An ALI is a database that contains customer location information from the local service provider which is used in response to 9-1-1 calls. For wireless calls, the location of the caller is determined as the call is placed. TCS' ALI Link service dynamically updates the ALI with the caller's current location information. Further, the TCS ALI Link service dynamically provides the wireless caller's current location information to the ALI which supports the PSAP to which the E9-1-1 call has been directed.

In wireless E9-1-1, TCS' ALI Link service provides nationwide connectivity between wireless carriers who own and utilize an in-network Mobile Positioning Center or Gateway Mobile Location Center (MPC or GMLC) and all ALI databases used for E9-1-1. Wireless carriers and other customers using the ALI Link service can access both regional and Stand Alone ALI (SALI) databases through a single contact point for both Phase I and Phase II wireless E9-1-1.

TCS' Integrated ALI functionality uses TCS' implementation of the Emergency Services Protocol (ESP) to format all position requests it forwards to the MPC/GMLC. A Carrier's MPC/GMLC only needs to support the ESP protocol when responding to any request forwarded from an ALI which protocol and configuration is supported by TCS.

"Corr Wireless values our subscribers' safety," said Bryan Corr, President of Corr Wireless, "TCS continues to be a reliable source for wireless E9-1-1 call routing to our company and its subscribers."

TCS E9-1-1 location technology is connected to thousands of PSAPs throughout the United States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. These connections link both TCS-hosted and in-carrier network MPC/GMLCs with every major U.S. Local Exchange Carrier, all national and regional ALI databases and over 150 SALI databases.

"TCS provides E9-1-1 services that efficiently serve carriers and the PSAP community," stated Dan Allen, Senior Vice President of Service Bureau Operations for TeleCommunication Systems. "Corr Wireless has addressed the personal safety of its subscribers as a top priority, and TCS is pleased to support them in that regard."
