Softmozart.com Offers Revolutionary New Music Lessons Methods, While Saving Parents Money

HOUSTON (EWORLDWIRE) Aug 30, 2005

Hellene Hiner, a Russian born musicologist, music teacher and the founder of an innovative, successful software program, addresses the fact that current music curricula in most public schools does not promote music literacy.

Music lessons must teach the music language the same way English Lessons teach the English language - students must earn the ability to sing and play notes and express thoughts, while consciously framing them.

Many music lessons are offered to children through public schools. However, singing songs, clapping, playing noise instruments, discussions about music and learning theoretical rules does not contribute to the music education of children. Lessons teaching to play instruments and to read notes sometimes appear only on the middle and high school level, when it is too late to change a child's mentality.

The selection of students for private music lessons is based on economic criteria - only those who pay can study. Those who are willing to pay for private
lessons are about 5-10 percent of households, and that number is plummeting because of the increasing lack of interest in music education. The majority of the population with a low income isn't studying music at all. Such a system is discriminating to children whose parents cannot afford music education and is very unfair to low-income families.

Lessons about music don't teach much of anything,
don't awaken an interest in music and cannot convince students of the necessity of learning more. This is leading to the stable downfall of interest in private lessons and music education altogether. Finally, this is leading to the decrease of the economic and professional level of private music teachers.

The Soft Mozart piano teaching method makes piano learning as natural, comfortably gradual and entertaining as possible. It involves students in intensive music practice from the very start, sparing them from dull lectures and long explanations. It gives any beginner the enjoyment of reading and playing well-known music pieces from the first lesson. Original exercises are disguised in the form of fun computer games, while students develop skills required for the proficient music score reading and piano playing.

The method, developed by Hiner, assures the development of a solid musical background for beginners and offers a powerful way for advanced students to further improve and enhance their skills. Implemented in the form of piano learning software, this method has been used for two years at the Cottage School System to teach piano to a spectrum of students, ranging from two-year-old children to adult beginners.
