Eleven suspected terrorists detained after Khalis raid

KHALIS, Iraq – Iraqi Army soldiers and Coalition forces conducted a targeted raid against an anti-Iraqi forces' assassination cell suspected of planning attacks on government officials in Khalis. The early morning raid occurred Aug. 26.

Soldiers with the 1st Brigade, 5th Iraqi Army Division and elements of a specific task force quickly cleared their two objectives. Soldiers detained 11 suspected terrorists and transported them to a secure facility for questioning.

No injuries or damages were reported.
