Pat Robertson's Comments "Inappropriate"
By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze
State Department spokesman Sean McCormack commented on Pat Robertson's suggestion that the United States assassinate the President of Venezuela as a way of getting rid of a dictator and not having to spend $200 billion getting the job done.
McCormack said "We do not share his view and that his comments are inappropriate and that, as we have said before, any allegations that we are planning to take hostile action against the Venezuelan Government are completely baseless and without fact."
McCormack would not respond to a suggestion that Robertson should be considered a terrorist.
There is a U.S. Embassy in Caracas and they are in contact with Venezuelan officials.
The U.S. seeks to promote democracy and greater prosperity for all the citizens of the hemisphere and the Venezuelan Government has been invited to join a positive agenda.
