Coddington Foundation(TM) Helped Make a Young Man's Hot Rod Dream a Reality
The original American hot rodder, Boyd
Coddington, along with the Coddington Foundation(TM), will unveil their
latest build, the Max Hemi, at a Hot Rod and Custom Car Show featuring
dozens of Boyd's custom hot rods, as well as other invited hot rods,
Saturday, August 27 at Boyd's Garage on 811 E. Lambert Road, in La Habra.
The event is open to the public beginning at 9:00 am ending with a silent
auction at 2:00 pm. Donations are appreciated for admission. Boyd can also
offer advice to help consumers keep their cars in good condition to help
combat rising fuel costs."
The complete Max Hemi build, which was designed by Boyd and 17-year-old Max
Cohen of Palatine, IL, will be unveiled at 11:00 am and featured on the hit
television series, "American Hot Rod," airing on the Discovery Channel
Monday, September 19 at 8:00 pm E/P. Max, who attends Palatine High
School, was diagnosed in 2003 with acute lymphocytic leukemia, has a
passion for designing cars and motorcycles.
The festivities also include food and beverage vendors and parking is
available in the Albertson's distribution lot across from Boyd's Garage on
E. Lambert.
"American Hot Rod" is produced by Pilgrim Films and Television with Craig
Piligian as executive producer. For the Discovery Channel, Mark Finkelpearl
is executive producer.
The Coddington Foundation(TM) was established in 2005 by Boyd and wife, Jo
Coddington to help children with life-threatening medical conditions
experience their dreams. Additionally, the foundation provides work
opportunities, job experience, and financial sponsorship for mentally
challenged adults, as well as raises funds for other non-profit
organizations through benefit car shows, and by auctioning off a
custom-built hot rod every two years.
