Motorcycles To Ride On Lowe's Motor Speedway -Speedway Children's Charities Will Host The Event To Raise Money For Area Children In Need

HARRISBURG, N.C. (EWORLDWIRE) Aug 23, 2005

Motorcycles will ride on Lowe's Motor Speed a NASCAR Track in Concord, N.C. Those attending this year's "Lowe's Motor Speedway Bike Night" will have the opportunity to ride their motorcycles on the legendary track's 1.5 mile banking. For the ninth year in a row Speedway Children's Charities will host this event to raise money for area children in need.

The event is scheduled to take place Saturday, October 1, with registration beginning at 5:30 p.m. Pre-registration is not necessary. Price for admission is $10 per rider and includes three laps around Lowe's Motor Speedway from 7 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. This Years Sponsors are Pat Rogers Speedway- Harley Davidson and Quaker Steak & Lube.

In the past nine years this event has raised over $150,000 for the charities.

Speedway Children's Charities is a 501 (c) (3) organization that provides funds to that meet the direct needs of children with medical, educational or social challenges. Through donations, sponsorships and fund-raising events such as the laps on the track, the organization distributes funds through a grant process to qualified non-profit organizations with a priority of improving the quality of life for children. Since its inception, Speedway Children's Charities has awarded millions of dollars with more than $14 million in the last ten years alone. In 2004, the charities raised more than $2.8 million and awarded grants to 411 nonprofit children's groups that help more than 300,000 children in need.
