What: The series continues tonight, Aug. 19, with
a gifted saxophonist, Steve Cole, and his own fresh
and crackling brand of smooth sax jazz
sounds inspired by his hometown of Chicago.
Cole's trademark sound is a sizzling mix of
modern funk textures and neo-soul
sensibilities mixed with catchy hooks and
feisty horn textures on the choruses. It's
guaranteed to make any audience a true fan.
Background: Every Friday night in August through Friday, Sept.
2, the sound of smooth jazz will fill the air with
performances by some of the best smooth jazz artists
in the country. This series is free to the public due
to the generous support of Independence Blue Cross.
