Eastern Computer Exchange Joins Softek Synergy Partner Program

Connecticut-Based Storage Integrator Utilizing Softek Data Availability Software to Non-Disruptively Move and Manage Customer Data

Softek(TM) Storage Solutions, the leading provider of non-disruptive data migration software for multi-vendor environments, today announced that Eastern Computer Exchange, Inc., a Milford, Conn.-based systems integrator specializing in storage and information lifecycle management (ILM) implementations, has joined the Softek Synergy Partner Program and is now utilizing Softek data migration software as a key tool for its professional services offerings in North America and Europe.

Representing a significant portion of Eastern Computer's annual revenues, the company's Managed Data Migration Services team provides a comprehensive array of storage-related professional services to large and medium-sized enterprises, including data migration, backup to disk (B2D), server consolidation, business continuance and disaster recovery, and storage area network (SAN) implementation projects. Since the company's founding in 1990, Eastern Computer, which is also a Signature and ASN Alliance member of the EMC Velocity Partner Program, has sold more than eight petabytes of storage capacity.

Eastern Computer's professional services teams use Softek Transparent Data Migration Facility (TDMF) and Softek Replicator for multi-platform solutions to non-disruptively move data from mainframe-attached storage arrays from EMC, Hitachi Data Systems, IBM and StorageTek. The company also plans to utilize the newly announced EMC/Softek Logical Data Migration Facility (LDMF), when available later this quarter, for non-disruptive dataset-level data moves to EMC Symmetrix DMX storage arrays. As well, Eastern Computer is reselling EMC Catalog Solutions software in conjunction with Softek.
