SIPquest Selects Global IP Sound VoiceEngine to Maximize Voice Quality Across Its Offering of Soft Client Solutions
Solution Raises the Quality Bar on Converged Multimedia Clients by Providing Better-Than PTSN Voice Quality and Rapid Integration

Global IP Sound (GIPS), a leading
provider of embedded voice-processing solutions for the Voice over IP
market, today announced that its VoiceEngine(TM) solution has been selected
by SIPquest, a leading developer of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
software and applications. The VoiceEngine solution will be used by
SIPquest to maximize voice quality in several of its soft client solutions.
"We are excited to work with SIPquest in putting innovative Converged
Multimedia Client products that offer unmatched voice quality into the
hands of service providers, telecom equipment vendors and IP PBX
manufacturers," said Gary Hermansen, President and CEO of Global IP Sound.
"VoIP has become a compelling technology to Enterprise users, and voice
quality is a driving factor in the adoption of these technologies. We want
to make sure that these solutions provide better-than-PTSN voice quality,
and GIPS VoiceEngine provides that assurance."
Initially, GIPS VoiceEngine(TM) solution will be used to enable both the
WiFi module in SIPquest's Dual Mode client, as well as in the company's IP
Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) portfolio of desktop and mobile clients.
GIPS VoiceEngine handles all the necessary voice components in VoIP
solutions in order to provide superior voice quality even under the most
adverse network conditions. The comprehensive, packaged solution, which
enables rapid integration and deployment of complex voice processing
technology in PC and PDA environments, provides better-than-PTSN voice
quality, as well as a variety of enterprise-class VoIP features, such as
noise suppression, GIPS NetEQ 3.0, push-to-talk capabilities and Telchemy
VQMon support.
"Voice quality has become a benchmark in this marketplace, and we are
confident that our partnership with GIPS will allow us to deliver on our
market leadership strategy of Converged Multimedia Clients for personal
multimedia communications at home, in the office or on the go," said Vish
Raju, SIPquest Vice President of Product Line Management. "We are counting
on GIPS technology to provide the same superior voice quality and
advantages going forward as we continue to announce new products in the
coming months."
The SIPquest Dual Mode client is a single, feature rich, multimedia client
running over WLAN and GSM interfaces facilitating fixed-mobile convergence
and the evolution to IMS. It manages a variety of communication session
types -- such as voice-over-IP (VoIP) and Instant Messaging. The Dual Mode
client can be integrated into a range of handheld devices, including PDAs,
Smartphones, and PocketPCs.
The SIPquest IMS client portfolio will help service providers create
value-rich multimedia services, and can be translated into new service and
revenue opportunities. The IMS client portfolio provides client-side call
control, personalization options and presence information required to
consolidate the user experience across device, network and media types.
