Harley-Davidson Announces Sturgis Adventure Contest for Women
Saddle Up for Sturgis Winners Will Ride From Milwaukee to Sturgis in 2006
Harley-Davidson (NYSE: HDI) has announced
that five lucky new women riders, and their riding coach, will win an all
expenses paid ride from Milwaukee to Sturgis in August 2006. The riders
will travel to Sturgis alongside Karen Davidson, Harley-Davidson's creative
director of General Merchandise and great granddaughter of founder William
A. Davidson. The contest was announced Friday, August 5 in Sturgis, S.D.,
and ends May 1, 2006.
"Riding a Harley-Davidson is a unique and exhilarating experience," said
Karen Davidson. "When a woman sees another woman riding a motorcycle, she
thinks 'If she can do it, so can I!' We're hosting this contest to
encourage more women to get trained and into the saddle of their own
Harley-Davidson motorcycle."
To enter the contest, women must submit a 100-word essay detailing why they
would like to Saddle Up for Sturgis 2006. The qualifying criteria and
contest rules are available at www.harley-davidson.com/womenriders.
"Whether a woman enters Saddle Up for Sturgis or not, we hope this contest
will inspire women to get riding," said Davidson.
